Found + Favorite Things...now at Old Glory!

We have traveled from Minnesota to Texas this month, hunting and gathering for the shop! We wanted to take a minute and share a few of our latest found and favorite things at Old Glory....
We found this beautiful old work table in Minnesota. It has a wonderful old metal top and metal legs, and a wooden shelf below for storage and display...to us it seems like a perfect kitchen island.

We love this zinc-top table with a metal base...simply beautiful!

Another fun work table...we found this one in Texas! Beautiful wood top, metal base, and a narrow shelf at the back...a fun and functional piece!

Here is wonderful farm table. It is made from reclaimed wood...the perfect piece for family gatherings or just a pretty tablescape!

We have a fresh selection of reclaimed antique ceiling tin and new art from Rebbeca Puig...these are our two favorite elements for decorating our walls at Old Glory!

Summertime at Old Glory!

Summer has arrived at Old Glory Antiques with a burst of red, white and blue! From painted cupboards to vintage bunting to bouquets of American flags, the colors of the season can be found throughout our shop. Antique grain sacks repurposed into beautiful pillows mix with rugs and pillows sporting stars and stripes, and bright blue tin sap cans make a colorful container for red geraniums. Here are a few of our favorite photos of Summer at Old Glory!

Grain Sack Chairs are Here!

We are excited to announce the arrival of the newest collection from FRAGMENTS (learn more about Fragments here): beautiful reclaimed chair frames upholstered in 120 year-old grain sacks!

These authentic, durable sacks are composed of hemp and linen, and each one is truly unique.  Hand-woven over a century ago to haul agrarian goods across Europe, each sack features a distinctive stripe that was used to exclusively identify the sack’s owner, so each one has its own special character. In recent times, they have become increasingly popular in home décor and upholstery projects, and FRAGMENTS has repurposed them into a beautiful line of chairs.

There are 10 chairs in the collection, each with its own unique history and charm...no two pieces are alike. You will find in this collection all of the elements you have come to expect from FRAGMENTS: outstanding craftsmanship, made entirely in America, repurposed with that hip, fresh look!

New Arrivals at Old Glory Antiques Urban Home + Design

I spent an entire day last week moving what seems like every piece of furniture in the store to make room for the delivery of three new pieces. You might be wondering how the arrival of just three pieces of furniture can trigger a redesign of the entire store. The answer? These are no ordinary pieces of furniture! Each piece delivered to the store that day was large, beautiful, and had a rich story to tell.

This beautiful step-back cupboard is from a boarding house in South Dakota. This piece has been beautifully restored. We love the old wavy glass in the cupboard doors!

Next off the truck...this beautiful old table, ten feet long!

We never tire of pieces with cubbies, especially when they are in such excellent condition. Once a fixture in a shop, this wonderful piece would make the perfect wine cabinet in a home today. Ohhh, the possibilities!
