New Arrivals at Old Glory Antiques Urban Home + Design

I spent an entire day last week moving what seems like every piece of furniture in the store to make room for the delivery of three new pieces. You might be wondering how the arrival of just three pieces of furniture can trigger a redesign of the entire store. The answer? These are no ordinary pieces of furniture! Each piece delivered to the store that day was large, beautiful, and had a rich story to tell.

This beautiful step-back cupboard is from a boarding house in South Dakota. This piece has been beautifully restored. We love the old wavy glass in the cupboard doors!

Next off the truck...this beautiful old table, ten feet long!

We never tire of pieces with cubbies, especially when they are in such excellent condition. Once a fixture in a shop, this wonderful piece would make the perfect wine cabinet in a home today. Ohhh, the possibilities!

Repurposed: Vintage Silverware

We love vintage silverware! The beautiful patterns and well-worn patina of these old pieces make them just too beautiful to be discarded. Instead, we have been creatively finding ways to repurpose the old spoons and forks we collect on our treasure hunts, and we love the results!

We have paired mismatched silverware and made platestands...fun and functional!

Single pieces with pretty patterns have found a new life as magnets.

Once utilitarian forks and knives become works of art when mounted on linen-wrapped boards and framed.

We have put these pieces of vintage silverware to work as plant markers for your herb garden.

Putting ordinary objects to use in unexpected ways...just so much fun!

A Visit from the Tin Man!

Last week, amidst our preparations for the opening of our sister-store Prince Street Dry Goods, the "Tin Man" paid us an unexpected visit! Thursday evening he pulled up in his large truck, brimming with reclaimed treasures. We refer to this beloved vendor of ours as the "Tin Man" because he brings us beautiful ceiling tin, salvaged from old buildings in the Northeast. Every piece is authentic and so full of history, with its own beautiful patina and unique pattern...each a piece of art made beautiful by time. What fun we had "shopping" his truck! Here are a few of our finds!

We are excited to introduce you to a wonderful new line of furniture now available at Old Glory Antiques Urban Home + Design and Prince Street Dry Goods (http://www.princestreetdrygoods.blogspot.com/): Fragments: Details for the Home. This beautiful collection of linens, pillows, bedding and upholstered furniture is fresh, hip, beautiful and ever-changing. The "out-with-the-new-in-with-the-old" philosophy of this company continues to charm us as new and unique products are added to the collection. Each beautiful piece exhibits outstanding craftsmanship, ensuring function as well as fun! All Fragments products are proudly made in America, and available in Colorado exclusively at the Old Glory family of shops.

This beautiful collection of reclaimed frames, painted black, distressed, and covered in linen...just beautiful!

What a wonderful piece! This settee retains its original paint, and is reupholstered in creamy linen with burlap on the sides and back.

A pair of chairs! These chairs feature all that Fragments is known for...distressed finish, mix of fabrics, outstanding workmanship.

Whimsical detail added here - a silverware handle! Charming!

Also available in gingham checks - fun!

Silverware as art...Fragments has taken vintage silverware just too pretty to be discarded, carefully mixing and matching pieces, and mounted the collections on wrapped linen boards. We love these simple yet beautiful pieces.

Here is a beautiful tufted wingback chair. This is a reclaimed frame upholstered in linen and burlap.

Here is a peek at the beautiful linen pillows and bedding available from Fragments.
